Complete And Partial Denture Bridges – What Suits You

Dentures are removable devices used to replace missing teeth. There are two types of fake teeth covers namely, complete and denture bridges. When all of the teeth are replaced, complete dentures are being used and partial denture bridges are only used when there are still some natural teeth remaining.
Complete dentures can be immediate or conventional. false teeth are placed into the wounded area right after the teeth are extracted. So while the wound is on the healing stage, the dentures are already being used by the wearer. Unfortunately, since the placing of the dentures is done right away, the gums and other tissues shrinks after the healing period resulting in having ill-fitting dentures. So for practical reasons these are made in advance so that the wearer would not have to worry about having no teeth while the wound is healing. If this is not done correctly the firs time it would require a second set and increase the permanent dentures cost.

As expected, the wearer will also have to visit the dentist most of the time during the healing stage so that proper adjustments can be done. Conventional dentures, on the other hand, are used by the wearer after the healing process which will usually takes about eight to twelve weeks. These are made while the wound is still healing. Unlike immediate dentures, conventional dentures can be worn without any pain felt from the wound since it has already healed.

Partial dentures are attached to a pink gum base and are connected with a metal framework to keep the dentures in place. When one or more teeth are still in place either in the upper jaw or in the lower jaw, then a denture bridge is used. It can be fixed or removable. A removable partial denture means that the wearer can remove or put the dentures back into place without the need of a dentist. A fixed partial denture uses crowns placed on the natural teeth such as it is somehow capped on it to put them in place.

Visit your dentist if you have concerns regarding your dentures so that it can be addressed right away and to avoid further damage. If you want to have cosmetic type of dentures, get a professional dentist who knows how to do it. It may be costly but it will give you the best smile you could ever have. If you are considering dental implants, the dentist will also have to check the current condition of your bone and gum tissues. Not all dental patients are advised to get dental implants. When you already have your dentures, always clean it by using a soft brush to remove bacteria and food debris and never soak it in a hot water to prevent it from being deformed.

How To Clean And Care For A Denture Bridge

Cleaning dentures is as important as taking a bath. Since we cannot stop from eating, you need to clean your denture to avoid the formation of bacteria that contributes to the foul smell and stains on the denture bridge. Brush them just like your normal teeth to keep it clean and bacteria free although at times it can be exasperating to clean it, but you must. Cleaning your dentures or false teeth is important to maintain an attractive smile and stain free dentures. You can also prevent the formation of plaques on dentures and maintain its brightness through proper care.
Here are some tips on how to clean your dentures:
1. To prevent your snap on teeth from breaking or getting chipped when it slips by accident, place a basin on top of the sink and pour water into it. Wash the denture over the water-filled basin so that in case it gets accidentally dropped then there’s the water to catch the fall.

2. Brush your dentures just like how you brush your natural teeth using a soft toothbrush or a denture brush to remove the stains. Use a denture cream or paste when cleaning it. Do not use a regular toothpaste or soap unless it is advised by your dentist. Brush your gums to make sure it is free from food particles and to prevent it from sticking to the dentures.

3. You can use cold or warm water when rinsing your dentures and make sure that the food particles or stains are completely removed. Never use hot water as this can cause the dentures to distort.

4. During bedtime, soak your dentures in a denture cleanser that is prescribed by your dentist.

5. Before wearing your dentures in the morning, brush your teeth, gums, palate, and tongue to keep a normal circulation inside your mouth and to prevent plaques from adhering to the dentures. Rinse your dentures thoroughly especially after soaking it in a solution to avoid any irritation to the mouth. You can use mouthwash to keep your mouth clean and fresh.

There are denture bridge products that are now available in the market which you can order online. They are easy to use and you can wear your dentures in just a few minutes after using these products. Ask your dentist for alternative products that are cheaper and will not cause any damage to your dentures. You can visit your dentist twice in every year to check your dentures and see if it needs adjustment or relining, cleaning, or if it needs to be replaced with a new design.
